Questions & policies
Everything you need to know, in one place.
General
What exam board do you focus on?
Our core strength is the CSSE exam, though we work with other boards too. If you’re not sure whether we’re the right fit for your child’s specific exam, just ask.
How big are the group sessions?
We keep groups small so every child gets proper attention — never more than 6 students per session.
Can I speak to someone about my child's progress?
Yes — we’re happy to talk you through how your child is doing, what to focus on at home, and what to expect next. You don’t need to wait for a scheduled update.
Booking & Payment
How do I sign up for weekly tuition?
Weekly tuition (Year 4 or Year 5) is enquiry-based rather than something you book online. Get in touch, and we’ll take it from there — including setting up your monthly payment by bank transfer or standing order.
How is weekly tuition billed?
Monthly, in advance, via bank transfer or standing order, due on or before the first day of each month.
Do you offer sibling or bundle discounts?
No — our pricing is kept simple and the same for everyone.
Is there a parent account or portal?
No. All confirmations, updates and reports are sent by email, so there’s nothing extra to log into or manage.
Cancellations & Refunds
Can I get a refund for Assessment Day, a Mock Exam Day, or a Short Course?
No. All bookable events are non-refundable and non-transferable, with no exceptions. Please make sure your chosen date works before booking.
What happens if my child misses a session?
We know illness, holidays and life happen! Unfortunately we’re not able to offer refunds or make-up sessions for missed classes, as spaces are reserved for your child whether they attend or not. If you let us know in advance, we may be able to arrange for your child to join that session via Zoom instead. Full details are in our Terms & Conditions (opens PDF in a new tab).
What if I need to stop weekly tuition?
We ask for 4 weeks’ written notice. Once your child leaves, we carry out a final reconciliation comparing what’s been paid against sessions actually delivered, at a backstop rate of £60/session (Year 5) or £40/session (Year 4). If you’ve paid more than the sessions delivered are worth, we refund the difference; if less, we charge the difference.
What if I join partway through the year?
Joining fees for that first month are calculated at the backstop rate (£60/session for Year 5, £40/session for Year 4) for the sessions remaining. The standard flat monthly fee applies from the following calendar month.
